THE VALUE OF A DEGREE

COLLEGE? YES YOU CAN!
OUR GOAL
By the year 2025, we will increase the number of college graduates with a bachelor’s degree or higher from Staten Island by 30,000. Staten Island's average will be 35%, outpacing all of New York City's boroughs, except Manhattan.
OUR PURPOSE
A borough-wide economic strategy that includes business development on the North Shore and ongoing Superstorm Sandy recovery efforts will bring jobs, arts, and commerce to Staten Island.
EDUCATIONAL SUCCESS IN OUR RESIDENTS WILL ENSURE THAT OUR COMMUNITY CAN KEEP PACE WITH THIS DEVELOPMENT.

To prepare the future entrepreneurs, professionals, engaged citizens, and leaders the borough needs as it rises to meet the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow - for a stronger Staten Island.
When 30,000 Degrees launched, Staten Island was ranked fourth out of the five boroughs for College Degree Attainment (2012 Census). According to a 2017 study by the Center for an Urban Future, Staten Island's rate of attaining bachelor's degrees is 30.4%, currently placing the "forgotten borough" in third place.
